So for years we have been advised, asked to not use power during peak times. Run your dishwasher late at night, or do laundry middle of the day, etc.
Now you guys get offended?
Other states (Texas) are also asking its residents to use power more efficiently.
It takes a bit of planning, especially with cars, but it isn't such a bad thing.
It's not about being upset about it. It's just spotlighting the fact that that baboon just signed into law that we go full electric in a decade and we can barely manage the load we have.
What's in store is we will "get" xxx units of energy per month and pay a carbon tax.
"Use less" seems to be the philosophy that isn't in the brochure. Goes along with the lefts attitude with everything. Eat less, travel less, be comfortable less, have fun less. It goes on and on. I wonder why they aren't honest and just make that their campaign slogan?

Given the rampant criticism of overweight people on C-D, I thought the general consensus was that Americans do need to eat less.
I'll say it right now, if Newsome can't herd the cats into preventing the shutdown of Diablo Canyon after waiting until it's (almost?) too late (which was bad leadership)....he can kiss any chance at higher office goodbye.
I really hope that they keep Diablo Canyon running, not only will the power shortages hurt friends and family there but it will damage the US economy as well.
CA has too many trust fund idealists running around trying to make energy policy.

Yup and the entire country is paying close attention as to how he's handling things. Don't think they aren't making a mental note as to whether they want him to be the next leader of the free world. A good campaign slogan for him could be, Let me do for the country what I did for California.
Clearly, providing enough electricity generation will need to be part of the transition to clean energy vehicles. This situation does argue that it may make sense for many people to generate their own electricity, or at least enough to recharge their vehicles. A distributed energy network could also be more reliable, since there would be fewer single points of failure.
Why would you regularly charge your EV at 4 to 9 pm anyway? That's when electricity is expensive. It's like pulling up to the pump with $18 a gallon gas and one with $6 a gallon gas and since your hand reached out first to the one that was $18 you just used that as you were too damn lazy to move it over 12 inches. Just set the car to charge when electricity is cheap once and done.
Of course if you need to such as for a road trip, you can charge and pay the extra money at the DC fast charger same as always.
And this is happening at the same time that the largest population state's Democrat leaders are telling us they will forbid us to buy ANY new gasoline or diesel carsin 12 years... a ban that will be phased in over the next 10 years until it become 100% in 2035.
How many power plants do they have plans to build during that time, even to help allay the PRESENT shortages of electricity, to say nothing about the huge increases in demand that will be cause by their coming bans against buying fossil-fuel cars?
