Other states (Texas) are also asking its residents to use power more efficiently.

It takes a bit of planning, especially with cars, but it isn't such a bad thing.
Don't see Texas looking to stop the sale of ICE vehicles in the near future.

I'm just relying anecdotal experience to anecdotal experience. It only ever seems to rub the poster the wrong way when the anecdotal experience goes against their cult like political devotions!

Ken Doll wants to ban new ICE cars sales in 2035 and anytime there is a heat wave for a couple days there is a potential for our electrical grid not handling demand. What is gonna happen when 10 to 20 percent of all vehicles are EV in the next 10 years? Will the power grid handle this demand if the weather gets hot which isn’t out of the norm during the summer. Is this pipe dream he preaches about wind/solar being at the forefront of power generation while having a larger amount of EV’s on the road sustainable?

The left told us that California can handle the EV grid problem.

They can't even handle summer heat.

It's not just California's electrical grid that is in a state of deterioration. All over the country, whether it's water or power or bridges or dams or roads, we've gotten into a cycle of responding to emergencies rather than proactively replacing worn out infrastructure. Big, sexy projects get lots of attention and funding while aging essential power and water upgrades are deferred and deferred and deferred again. I don't expect California's strategy to succeed, but I'll cheer them on nonetheless because if they do make it work, it will be better for all of us over the long-term.

California screwed up electric deregulation more than 20 years ago and they haven't learned a darn thing since.

Putting the cart before the horse does not make logical sense. You do not purchase a house and then figure out how to pay for it, nor would I cheer you on for doing so, because I know you are only harming yourself. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

As I stated in my original post, why did California not focus on building the best electrical infrastructure, before mandating that only electric vehicles be sold by a certain date, when they have trouble keeping the lights on with electric vehicles making up two percent of California's vehicle fleet?

I was going to settle for just giving you a rep, but I couldn't resist answering the question in your second paragraph.

I am firmly convinced that most extreme liberals are impulsive and emotional to a fault, and the leftist California political leaders and decision makers are the worst of the lot.

CA last year: Yeah, we can shut off 10% of our electricity generation.

CA this year: Oh crap, we're not going to have enough electricity.
