why would I weep? I already said that I would admit it if I was wrong. I need a chance to try to find where I saw that the budget was higher. I don't think I have said anything personal, and if I did, I apologize. this was your very first post in the thread.
You're right - I did go over the top and get personal in that first post....
I think that single people with no kids are totally screwed under our current tax "scheme." let me get this strait, I have no kids, but I pay for your kids education. I also pay for their health care, and all those other services that are provided for children. I don't like this fact, however, I accept it. where I start to get annoyed is when we give back more to those who take the most. I don't have a $3000 write off per child. I didn't get an extra wad in my stimulus check. these things annoy the crap out of me, but then I heard a new one. now residents of my state aren't paying sales tax on school supplies. WTF is going on? it's almost like you are forced to have kids to make any money in this country. you know what's even harder than being a parent? paying for kids that aren't yours. I am tired of this government forced child support for children I didn't have the pleasure of making. like I said, I have come to terms with tax dollars being used for education and some services for kids (not health care), but I think they have got to draw a line at all these tax incentives that are unfairly given to those who choose to have children.
Sounds like a greedy individual who doesn't want to do their part for the future of our country... everyone pays the same taxes you do... even the parents sending their kids to private schools... and you can't be serious about getting angry that people don't have to pay sales tax on supplies... if your panties are all up in a bunch about the unfairness of it all why don't you go buy all of you paper, pens, pencils... all the office supplies that you need for you own use at that time? Everyone pitches in to help society... not just your childless self... get over it.
Raising children is a very demanding and expensive task. I would rather see tax breaks for families than for the myriad of tax breaks doled out to a grateful financial industry. Check out my tax proposals on some of the other threads.
everyone pays the same taxes, but parents get the write off for children. is that really so hard to comprehend? I am not angry, I just don't understand it. this is why I advocate a flat, or fair tax. if you don't like tax cuts for the rich, why would you like tax cuts for parents? a tax cut is a tax cut, isn't it? I guess those who have made more money are evil? with a flat tax, the rich would pay far more in taxes. with a fair tax, the over indulgent spender pays the higher taxes.
