honestly, I wish the congress would change a lot. I do advocate for a easy tax system. I am tired of my handfuls of 1099 forms every year. I have said before, I would give up my mortgage write off for a good fair tax system. one that is easy.

As to your point: Get the Congress to change the personal exemptions. I would not mind.
I will say however, I doubt you will have much luck
But no one forces you to become a parent... you did it by choice
At least more than a couple people get it.
If money is really important to you... than dont have kids. you will have alot less of it.
Life is a balance, My dream would be to have 15 kids and be rich.... is it gonna happen.....no. So I will settle with a couple, if I am lucky enough to be blessed.
Having kids is a choice, you CANNOT argue that. If you dont have the dough, don't have the kids.
I think that single people with no kids are totally screwed under our current tax "scheme." let me get this strait, I have no kids, but I pay for your kids education. I also pay for their health care, and all those other services that are provided for children. I don't like this fact, however, I accept it. where I start to get annoyed is when we give back more to those who take the most. I don't have a $3000 write off per child. I didn't get an extra wad in my stimulus check. these things annoy the crap out of me, but then I heard a new one. now residents of my state aren't paying sales tax on school supplies. WTF is going on? it's almost like you are forced to have kids to make any money in this country. you know what's even harder than being a parent? paying for kids that aren't yours. I am tired of this government forced child support for children I didn't have the pleasure of making. like I said, I have come to terms with tax dollars being used for education and some services for kids (not health care), but I think they have got to draw a line at all these tax incentives that are unfairly given to those who choose to have children.
I have not read the replies yet. But I am confident that at least fifty of them are going to croon...."But Children are the Fyoooooooooooooture" Yep, they are future murders, drug dealers/addicts, thieves, rapists, etc. Oh but they are going to take care of you when you are old.... oh great. I'm doomed.
My philosophy being blissfully childfree myself, is that you should not garner any special treatment (taxes or otherwise) because you have proven that your sperm or ovaries are viable. Reproductive success should not be what governs a nation, but alas it does. All too often. Ninety percent of my property taxes go to fund a school that (being an adult), I am not allowed to SET FOOT IN. If that isn't taxation without representation, what is?
I agree with the op that childfree people get the shaft in almost every single aspect, but we're still laughing because we're childfree and "they" aren't. LOL
hahaha, no, that's called government. the government is making itself a charity organization. you can accept it, or you can deny it, it's personal choice. although, most parents I know who like these tax breaks don't enjoy those personal choice things.

Well I might say as a parent I certainly realize the few hundred bucks of a tex break I might get for my kids don't in any way cover the monumental expense of raising them, so you can certainly laugh about that.
However I value my life infinitely more because I am raising my kids.
Yuo can laugh till the cows come home, but I would not trade my expenses and problems and frustration of raising kids to being all alone for anything.
I don't have a problem with that, and I actually respect it. but should the non breeder pay a higher tax than you?

I am truly blessed and cannot imagine my life being as complete without them.
