All of that is in the past and today is a new day. We may still be a free country if America wakes up and puts a stop to the socialism that is being created in Washington.

Black slaves did get a roof over their head and fed for their services. Sorta like many Americans who have to work 2 jobs in order to keep a roof over their head and food under the dictatorship of a corporation. Only difference is they can't whip us and kill us. Of course, keep in mind most slaves that were owned were not treated as badly as you think. You wouldn't want to whip or hurt your slave because they are worth money and that also kills the resale value if your slave can't work or looks like he's been a bad slave (whip marks). They cost as much as a car would have back then, and you wouldn't go out and dent your car for fun. Of course, you do have people who have more money than they could ever possibly need, so they didn't treat them with care. Just rambling. Indians had it worse.
I'd rather have been exterminated than have my dignity reduced to that of a car.

I am not condoning slavery or colonialism, just saying the idea that Africa would be less violent and poor is almost certainly a fantasy.
That's the biggest bull crap ever. While i'm not saying they would had America's wealth, it's a sheer myth to say year's of imperialism didn't have an affect on the lost contentnent. And the main reason that Africa is often so violent is because the euros would often group two different enthic groups with a stormy history together. Look at the situations in Ireland and Isreal, both can be traced back to European conquest. And for more recent examples of how imperalism can screw up a region, look at the effect 45 years of Soviet domination had on Eastern Europe.
Without a doubt the Native Americans; they're nations were destroyed and the survivors put onto reservations.
there were more african slaves in north america than native groups, dont forget native groups oftendestroyed each other siding with specific european groups
i like to know why are everybody ignoring post slavery events leading all the way up to the 70's involving americas attacks on american-blacks?
