Here, here! I agree. If Democrats can't pass anything, nothing will change. We'll continue to have health insurance premiums skyrocket, more denials of coverage, more people using emergency rooms for routine care, etc. Some people think these things are just the American Way so they must be good.

Again...I believe when polled Americans are happy with their healthcare...

Small point I know when you personally aren't...who cares what millions of others think when YOU aren't happy.

And yes - some require co-pays. Some have deductibles. There is NO REASON why you should expect the Government to pay for 100% of every little medical bill you incur.

Insurance use to be ONLY for MAJOR Medical - hospitalizations / surgeries.

I would not mind going back to that and having Americans actually pay for some of their own medical costs. What would be wrong with that?

What model time warp machine do you have in your basement? Are you serious? Is this how you and the Republicans are trying to state your case. American's should pay more towards their medical care with the cost of living rising every day?

in the 60's it cost less than $800 to have a baby in the hospital, 2009 $20K+. In the 70's, one asprin in the hospital would cost $2, 2009 $8. It cost $75 co-payment just to walk into the emergency room. Where did you get 80% of american's have medical insurance? Is this Private Medical insurance or Private, Medicaid and Medicare?
I don't expect the government to pay 100%, I expect the government to regulate these high Medical and Insurance cost.

I'm not a Republican. Thought you should know.

And yes, in my personal opinion, the American people should pay more towards their own healthcare. If it means foregoing the 80 inch HDTV for a while, then, so be it.

Personally, the 20/80 polices work well: you pay 20% of the bill - the insurance picks up the other 80%.

To be technical - its close to 370 million in the United States and some 37 million have no insurance - some by choice.

That means, 90% of Americans DO HAVE INSURANCE.

Do you just pull numbers out of the air or do you make it up as you go along. There are 119 million american's that have their OWN PRIVATE insurance, so if there are 370 million american's thats about 32% give or take a few percentages of American's that have Private insurance.

Seems most government employees(the House and Senate) have great health care plans...that are subsidized by our tax dollars.....funny how it works for them and how easily such legislation was passed many years ago????
