Insurance is not mandated.

No one will be fined for no insurance

Tax deductibility for insurance premiums paid by anyone

And, there is more that is totally different than the Dem plan

The Dems intention is to try to get to single payer. That is a fact.

This legislation leaves the American people to decide what they want. Keeps the government out of your life

The Dem plan puts government IN your life

MAJOR differences

What I provided a link to is THE LEGISLATION - the Bill, in the Congress, for their consideration.

No legislation has "numbers" as you seem to want. Those come from the CBO

Yes it is.

It provided no funding.

Would do a study on the common illnesses and diseases.

Would not mandate any insurance reform.

Would pass implementing on to the states (without funding).

I don't think it would cover a single person that is not covered today.

Yes I can see it's different.

You would have a choice. You can not be covered or you can have no coverage unless you already have some!!!

I beg to differ - elimination of pre existing condition exclusions is not "reform"?

This is the actually letter from the CBO regarding the Healthy American Act.
Looks WAY better then Obama's mess.

Overall, our preliminary analysis indicates that the proposal would be roughly
budget-neutral in 2014. That is, our analysis suggests that your proposal would be
essentially self-financing in the first year that it was fully implemented. That net
result reflects large gross changes in Federal revenues and outlays that would
roughly offset each other.

More specifically, under your proposal, most health insurance premiums that are
now paid privately would flow through the Federal budget. As a result, total
Federal outlays for health insurance premiums in 2014 would be on the order of
$1.3 trillion to $1.4 trillion. Those costs would be approximately offset by
revenues and savings from several sources: premium payments collected from
individuals through their tax returns; revenue raised by replacing the current tax
exclusion for health insurance with an income tax deduction; new tax payments
by employers to the Federal government; Federal savings on Medicaid and
SCHIP; and state maintenance-of-effort payments of their savings from Medicaid
and SCHIP. Attachment C provides more information about the approximate
magnitudes of those components.

This bill protects insurance companies which is what they want. We give tax breaks so that the saved money can go straight to insurance companies. This is a great way for insurance companies to increase their revenue yet again! We tried to manage insurance companies in the past and they always get around it. In my opinion, it is health insurance companies that need to be reined in.

BTW Greatday, Do you have a close relative in the health insurance business that you can guarantee your insurance premium will not go up as you said in a post on another thread?

This is just another joke like the budget they came up with!
Could you explain how the Obama admin plans to pay for its plan?

I would rather pay into a UHC plan than a high premium to an insurance company that can rescind or deny coverage at anytime.

Who are these 46 million you are going on about?

Are they too poor to afford insurance?

Please elaborate.
