Traditional guy - let's see:
- clean-cut
- is educated or trained in something practical
- dresses, carries himself and thinks in a manner like most other men
- probably subscribes to a religion (not visiting Tibet with Richard Gere's entourage)
- tends more toward conservative than liberal points of views
- got the idea?

B&N or Starbucks test?
- Read, write, and drink some coffee/tea and count the Gregs/Dharmas that come in. ZILCH.

It's 2012 and that is still the norm, for better or worse. It's just that they live in nice homes instead of huts and drive to the next driveway in a SUV rather than swing on a rope.

I'm still not getting it. Where does the care about the traditional guy come into play? When I look back on my life I don't think I ever came across traditional guys as a feminist. It didn't enter my radar, so I'm not sure why there would be concern about their 3rd legs. If anything, I was repelled by it as was my husband.

My friend, you simply can't make sense out of something senseless.

Our OP is determined to be misinformed and there is nothing any of us can say to change the damage that's already been done.

I'm movin' on myself

If you're so "traditional," dear, why do you want your wife to work...? You conveniently skipped that post of mine on another thread. Traditional men support their wives.

Tiger isn't really my idea of macho, if that's what your asking. You still haven't answered my question about what a "traditional" guy is, and what the Starbucks test is. A traditional guy is someone who pays for sex, instead of having a wife and kids? Someone who bats a ball around a big lawn for a living? Ya gotta help me out here...

You're comparing yourself to non-human apes, now? Ok.

No, babe, that's what you think. I asked a simple question "Would you date a woman who majored in women's studies?" Most of the posts are from women. So, ladies, then you must all interested in checking out the freshman coeds in this type of curriculum? We're up to about 20 pages, thanks to ridiculous questions about my relationship to my parents, to which I say "thank God for European immigrants with traditional values." I am sure the women's colleges offer tours, but I think it might be weird if you showed up, unless you dragged your freshman age offspring along for the visit.

OH, now it's out! He wants to have his cake and eat it, too! He wants the wife to pull her weight! So, how does that fit in with your vision of the traditional woman? Betty Friedan staying home to bake cookies, that vision?
