When I was 19 there were plenty of older guys I found attractive enough to think... I do him!
I didn't , but that didn't mean I wouldn't have.

Part of it is common sense. Stable, well adjusted teenagers have the natural, healthy inclination to hang with and date their own generation. Observe the world and you will see this. Girls who are attracted to much older men usually have a history of chaos and dysfunction in their lives.

The other part is experience. When I was 18-22, I knew and dated a lot of girls in this age range. The ones who were healthy and well-adjusted had no interest in dating an "ancient" 38 year-old, celebrity or not.

I don't know your history, but I'm betting you have not had a stable family, emotional and relationship life.

A natural, healthy inclination to hang out and date guys who are more likely to date rape them.

Rule of thumb. Half your age plus 7 is socially acceptable. So you're 39 means you shouldn't really look to be involved with anyone under age 26. When I was 23 I was hooking up with a 19 year old and it felt a little weird, but she was hot so I rolled with it a while. When I was 20 I was hooking up with a hot 33 year old and thought I was the man, looking back you have to wonder why a hot 33 year old would bother with a broke 20 year old.. issues my friend, issues. Now that I'm 30, following my rule I shouldn't look below 22.. ya know if I wasn't married.

What, exactly, gives you this opinion?

Yes, the average age.

However:

54.6% are 18 to 29 years old
28.6% are 30 to 39 years old
8.9% are 40 to 49 years old
7.3% are 50 years old or older

Also, 1 in 5 co-eds has been sexually assaulted. Clearly girls are safer with older men than younger ones. Not just from rape. Young men are overwhelmingly more prone to violent acts in general.

65% of rapes are committed by someone the woman is not even dating or intimate with, but, instead, either just an acquaintance or a stranger.

That is not correct. No one can consent before the age of consent. Here is a link, at the bottom it lists all states and the age differences deemed acceptable: Statutory Rape: The Age of Consent | LegalMatch Law Library

Hawaii allows the biggest age difference, they allow 21 year olds to be with 16 year olds. Everyone else is between 18-20 at the oldest, with most listing 18 as the oldest it is legal to have consensual sex with a minor. Many only allow other 16 year olds to have sex with 16 year olds.
