I think in certain areas having a house is more valued than others and not many people live in apartments.
Being born and raised in NYC, owning a house certainly isn't very important, a lot of people with money live in apartments. Luxury ones that many people who own houses elsewhere cannot afford.
Where is TVSG who started this thread such a long while ago? As is his wont, where is his follow-up? Nowhere? Of course not, he just starts another thread. Sigh. Poor Grasshopper.
If someone is single and in their 30s and they own a house around here, and they are not a millionaire I would really question their priorities. I don't see the reason to own so much and get a huge mortgage when you can rent or buy a much more affordable place and put money away for when you really need a house.
Ok, i thought that as long as you didn't live in your mom's basement and was on your own that was fine. So living in a apartment is not acceptable in your 30's??_lol Are you kiddin me???
I have had 2 different woman ask me when do I plan to buy a house?? Or why am I not already in a house??
Ok everybody, I'm done, it's clear that I don't qualify for a relationship because women want you now in this SHAKY economy to have a HOUSE???
I mean Come on!
I'd drop those women like a bad habit. People can think what they want, but nobody ought to be asking such direct personal questions, fraught with financial consequences, so early in a relationship. That's a real red flag.
If you don't have a house AND porche I'm gonna kick you in the n*ts if you try to hit on me.
LOL to whoever repped me about that. If I really did have that attitude, yep, I better be cooking and cleaning!
