Whatever you say, Richard. In any event, you have chosen to reject both of them. You can come to Jesus, your Messiah.
why is it that you're trying to convert Richard from his Judaism? Judaism has been around longer than Christianity by quite a few thousand years and just because they rejected your Savior as their Messiah doesn't mean that they were wrong in their thinking, maybe they knew something that nobody else did. I see that you are following the basic tenants of Christianity in trying to convert everyone to your religious belief, suppose your religious belief is not the correct one even though you have been told that your entire life and that the Christian church has been saying that for centuries. There's a saying among my people, just because it's written in a book, doesn't mean it's true.

Jesus said that without him, NO ONE could come to God. So, yah, it really does. In any event, Richard has been quite vocal in his criticism of Christianity, so please don't think I'm just trying to "pick on" him.

Actually, I didn't convert to Christianity until I was 20 years old. So it wasn't my whole life.
But there is also forgiveness from sin for you, as well. You can also come to the same savior. I'd encourage you to consider Jesus. Not the one that you THINK was responsible for harming your people, but the one that brings forgiveness and love.

Good for you. How about if it was written in 66 different books that are inspired by God?
Just curious what everyone thinks Jesus wants us to do and be. This is NOT a question of how you think the visible church is acting today, but I want to know what you believe Jesus commanded the church to be and do.
Are we to just love everyone?
Are we to preach hate?
ARe we to preach something else?
It is a reflection of the spiritual church Jesus built in 3 days. It's thus part of His 'Body". Basically it sets a standard of what human salvation could mean. The authentication is given by,
Matthew 16:19 (NIV)
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Practically, the visible church holds the standard (i.e., Canon) of what the Bible is. Thus in effect no one can arbitrarily add or reduce contents from the Canonized Bible. This is to ensure that the same gospel breach across humanity will remain theologically the same, such that the same message of salvation is made available to the different human generations.
Christianity is a vessel to make it possible for the message of salvation from God being conveyed without distortion (in terms of salvation instead of context). There's no other means available for such a message to be brought across 2000 years of history but except for a religion, that is, Christianity.
At this point this thread has gone way off the rails. I realize you guys have a bone to pick with Christianity, and probably religion as a whole...like so many others on this thread.
Highly doubtful. He makes his living by telling people they have to believe what he believes or they are going to hell.
People who make money off religion, especially fundamentalists, seldom consider they could be wrong. Admissions of doubt could lead to all sorts of things..like a change of belief. Which could cut off the pipe line and lead to all sorts of things fundamentalists hate...like an aesthetic life of contemplation...... or working for Target.

It was 3 or 4 posts into the thread & you went & changed it asking for something very different from your OP. You started this thread & then you changed & cried foul when you didn't like said answer.
