Are you disappointed that you can't be at their funerals holding up a sign that says "Gays Are Sinners!!"?
No, there it is. Fifty people are dead and you and your friends want to use this tragedy as an excuse to trash talk on Christians who had absolutely NOTHING to do with these deaths. Disgusting to say the least.

I'm not going to betray my beliefs because it is un-PC. If someone is going to post lies that the Bible is pro-gay, I'm not going to remain silent either. But there is a time and place for sharing those beliefs and a funeral is not one of them especially since it would extremely disrespectful and only provoke anger.

Why is it then that you do not recognize the hate intrinsic in mistreating and discriminating against gays because you THINK they are sinners and abominations in God's eyes??? If your daughter is sexually active she would be such an abomination in God's eyes according to the fundamentalists.

Yes, hate is hate. Which is why the notion of hating people because they are LGBT, regardless of whether some purported god thinks they are worthy of shaming and hating....is considered barbaric in this day and age.

Even if one does not consider themself to be open minded.

I can think of a few other things Jesus never talked about. Slavery, genocide, sexism. I could go on.

Which parts of the bible do we take as the word of God then? The parts that seem appropriate to you?

Re: The Pulse Nightclub Shooting

I'm actually quite tired of saying, "Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer."
It isn't God's mercy that is in question.
It is our long history of creating "otherness" within our society.

When we create "others", we create a class of persons who are to be reviled, demonized, hated, objectified, and killed.

The church is complicit because for far too long we have refused to repent of our errant theology.

We taught intolerance - intolerance of other races; intolerance of other ethnicities; intolerance of other identities; intolerance of other languages; intolerance of another gender.

We taught Intolerance! And, intolerance for some people is translated into hate.

We have created the Miseducation of the Christian. For that we must repent. REPENT!

We did this to Native Americans.

We did this to the first immigrants from Europe.

We did this to immigrants from other countries.

We did this to freed slaves.

We did this to women.

We continue to do this to LGBTQIA persons.

We've done this too many times to feign ignorance.
So, it isn't, "Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer."
It is, "Lord, forgive us, for we knew what we were doing, and we did it anyway."
For that we should be ashamed.

Please keep in mind Jesus did use the word ' porneia ' at Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9
KJV translated porneia as the English word fornication. Porneia covers more than fornication because porneia includes having sex with an animal as scriptural grounds for divorce. So, yes, Jesus did mention bestiality as being wrong.
Porneia is also where we get the English word for pornography.

The results between your christian fundamentalist cultism and that of Isis is exactly the same. In your heart is secret rejoicing and a "god is punishing them" attitude. They kill bodies, you prefer to kill the spirit. My God calls both "murder" and will reward them as equal conspirators.

You have already embraced a sinful lifestyle by choice. Not many gay people were happy to discover their predisposition considering how mistreated they are by your cult.

You could try getting a biblical education, but since you won't you embrace a sinful lifestyle in the name of jesus.

Spiritual aberrations such as yourself are far more common than homosexuality---and it is equally difficult to debug the fundie as it is to pray away the gay. But there are a few of us who escape fundieism just as there are a few who hold in abeyance the fact God created them gay.

Gays have been and still are a persecuted group in many, many nations of the world. Some of your fundie Christian leaders have called for them to be institutionalized. Those are the one discontented with merely persecuting them by refusing to bake them cakes.

Deep inside you are unhappy that your christian buddies on the police force and ambulance services and hospitals should be forced to protect them, rescue them, and treat them. You will deny it, but God blessed me with the ability to see two hearts---yours and mine. You still have the ability to claim ignorance of what God means in Scripture. What you don't have is the ability to say you were not warned to get a real education about both sides of the fence.

Comparing our two hearts--yours remains marginally better than mine--but that margin is getting thinner post by dishonest post.
