The sad part for those who leave Christianity is that they have often just lost sight of what brought them to their faith originally. They get so caught up in only seeing the politics of the church, that they start to mistake the walls of the church with the spiritual walls in the human heart, even their own.
"I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it."
What brought most christians to their faith originally was simply that their parents got them into the habit.
When people believe all the made up stories it’s like finding out there isn’t a Santa as a child. Traumatic. People should realize that there is no god watching our every move. Love when in football they get a touchdown and point to the sky. (God didn’t do it you did). God doesn’t favor a sports team.

I agree. He was taken to church. Told all about christianity from his early days. And then found he believed in it. Who woulda ever guessed.
The children of Hindus who become Hindus.
The children of Buddhists who become Buddhist.
And so on.
My brother was taken to church also. At age 16, he rebelled and quit going. He’s now an agnostic. I made a different decision. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?

Why is it so difficult for you to understand that, for the most part, throughout the world, children belong to the religion their parents belong(ed) to.
