The thing at issue here is that god supposedly makes lavish and specific promises to his followers and then doesn't follow through on them. It's too hard. Because sin. Or some such lame excuse for a supposedly omnipotent being.
This only applies, of course, to those who claim that god is perfectly benevolent and good and promises to hear the cry of the righteous for deliverance. You perhaps don't make those claims, in which case, the critique would not apply.

That's an equally valid question. Like, little children, born disfigured, diseased, crippled, in constant pain...they know not good or evil, they have had no chance to 'sin', and yet they are punished and suffer. Why? What good reason is there to torture *them*?
That's not benevolence. It's cruelty, a sign of a sick and diseased mind to inflict such tortures on innocent babies...or to condone it. There is no excuse for such behavior, no justification.

Gods kingdom is very close--We are at the end of these last days. Gods word is 100% guaranteed to occur. The false teachers have this world confused. Jesus sat on his throne here-Rev 6-- that occurred 102 years ago. The whole world has watched this for years now-Rev 13--not much remains to occur out of Rev. Only the teachers on earth who have Jesus blessing can see the reality of Rev.
Oh, come on now. If there were a god, and that's what he/she/it wanted, he could have done it from the outset. Or, with the power you ascribe to such a being, could just do it now. What you say makes no sense.
God has to make decisions that is best for all for all time. Mortals cannot possibly understand what that entails. God knows exactly what had to be done. God uses--Love, power, wisdom and justice in every decision he makes.
I'm going easy on him (well, on Keepy, really) compared to you. I am allowing for the sake of argument that somehow god could want these things for us and yet can't or won't provide them until somewhere down the line when if feels right to him. All I've been questioning is why the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper about as often as the inverse.
The day and hour are set in stone. The righteous suffer because satan rules this world. Jesus taught his followers to be no part of this world( they do not fit in) yet still have to live in it. The righteous store their treasures in heaven and will reap the benefits in Gods kingdom and get life everlasting--so in reality who has prospered? This life is all the wicked will get.

I think I should contact the guy who wrote the New Age BS Generator and have him do a fundamentalist Christian version.
Instead of stuff like "Quantum reality opens the solar system itself to divine transcendence" it would be in quasi-Elizabethan English and far darker. Stuff like "Blasphemers! Idolaters! How shall you escape the judgment of God, ye who passeth the covenant between the parts of the calf! Behold, your place is left unto thee desolate, and thou art given into the hands of thine enemies, to become a laughingstock and a byword among the nations."
