The Holy Quran is not a detail scientific book , it is the final Holy Book From Allah to all mankind
and it is considered the constitution and the Laws that must be comply by every one in this world .
it is more 1400 years old and it also contain stories and kind of history events and hints and signs to scientific facts these scientific facts are considered miracles because it could not be told by any human being at that time 1400 years ago, also they are considered proofs against non believers who do not believe in the creator or those who do not follow Islam
Gentlemen, you are correct. The failure of the writer of the Quran to understand the facts that science has discovered and rather puts the mistaken views of the people of the time, is another proof that it is the work of men.
More of the same. Everyone could see the moon apparently changed shape. The explanation was, I suppose, known in Ptolemy's Alexandria, so if the 7th c Muslims knew it, that would not be a wonder, but the quote just seems to refer to the changing shape with no explanation other than "Allah says it will be that way".
That is; they understood less than the 1st c Greeks.
I am afraid that the moon NEVER changes shape. Not 1400 years ago. Not 1.4 billion years ago. It just remains the same old dead rock orbiting the earth. The only thing that changes is the moon's position relative to the sun and our view of the sunlit portions of the moon from the earth. It may also shock you to discover that the moon does not shine of it's own volition. Strange but true.
That is the clumsiest effort at an ad eminem excuse I have ever heard. What should we be envious of? Someone who, while they do a god job of stating their claims clearly, canot make them stick and we beat them, really. A believer in the divine origins of a book that that belongs with the other religious books on the mythology shelf? I say nothing of the religion itself and the culture it produces, but just of what you have presented here, but what, so far, have you produced that we should respect (other than your efforts, to which I give full credit) let alone envy?
Rather it is the reaction of Religious and cult -think. A resentful envy of the results of science which it only wishes it could match with the claims of their religious books, but almost entirely, cannot.

We don't because it isn't (even in the UK ) part of the social fabric the way Christianity is, and never will be, despite the regular attempts to turn State schools into Masjids. But, if the claims are presented for Islam, we will of course (Mods permitting such a derail) consider them, point up the for and against and say whether we are convinced or not - just as we do with the claims for Christianity.
