(CNN)After President Donald Trump made clear during Monday night's press briefing that he plans to lift his self-isolating guidelines soon, aides are scrambling for a compromise option that will avoid what health officials say would be a disaster: advising all Americans to return to normal life.

The discussions include a phased system based on age or geographic location, according to officials.

One option of a phased system that would see younger people -- potentially under 40, according to one option -- return to the workplace or business first, followed gradually by people slightly older until most of the country is back to normal.

Another option being considered is keeping in place restrictions only on vulnerable people and senior citizens, including on nursing homes, but allowing others to return as a group.

A third plan being considered would have Trump lift the federal guidelines but explicitly endorse individual governors acting however they see fit for their own states, including saying that some states should remain under stricter orders than others.

A fourth idea is to keep in place some federal guidelines but change others to allow states more leeway, so that places where the outbreak isn't as severe can open.

One other idea is to target specific types of workers to return to work, including people who drive themselves and don't work in large groups.

Presently my office is closed to the public and I was told if I don't come to work - I don't get paid.

So how does this work? Everyone over 40 shelters in place while the virus progresses through everyone under 40? How long does that take?

I'm really not sure what Trump or the federal government can do in the way of restricting movement within a state. The states seem to be doing what they think is right for the citizens of their state. In general, I would welcome a more "national" plan, but in all honesty Trump is not the one I want to manage said plan. And where is the CDC in all this? In every epidemic we have had over the past 75 years the CDC takes the lead to manage the situation. These are the professionals that spend their life working and preparing for such a situation. Where are they?

Like a lot of things, the CDC is not what it used to be. Corporate and political interests have heavily influenced the CDC over the past decade. We are seeing the results of that outside influence.

Florida, home to millions of elderly, doesn’t have enough coronavirus tests. Could it be the next epicenter?
https://www.heraldtribune.com/news/2...next-epicenter

Florida is home to nearly four million people 65 and over, the second-highest number in the U.S. behind California.

Yet hospitals and doctors around the state say they still don’t have nearly enough testing kits and can’t get the ones they have analyzed fast enough, echoing complaints from state health officials across the country. Health officials have completed 27,000 tests so far in Florida, while New York is doing more than 18,000 tests a day.

That lack of testing availability means the number of people infected in Florida is likely far higher than the 2,355 coronavirus cases counted by the Florida Department of Health as of Thursday.

If you want to get some idea of what Florida may have done to itself - AND to the rest of the country...watch this.

While the majority of the phone calls apparently went to the Midwest and Northeast, there were some concentrated nodes of calls to other areas in Florida.

Spring Break Florida 2020 was a failure of the federal government to identify a risk and shut it down as much as it was a policy failure of Florida.

True...but consider this. What is shown in that short time period from ONE small section of ONE beach has been happening since then.....if you even look at planes in the air today....you will get some idea.

Let alone the cars...headed north and south and every which way.

Take a look - as we speak. If we use logic and take that one example in the video....and then figure weeks of travel 1000's of times as much, there is an idea of why no area can escape it.

https://flightaware.com/live/

If we wanted to save Americans the skies would be largely shut down except for some charters and very limited flights with full screening for people to return to their home.

But seeing what is happening even today gives one the impression we are not doing enough.
