For Cinabar and anyone else in Lewis County, I just hope the flooding that area is known for doesn't happen. When I was in Centralia, we got 4 1/2 inches of rain in 36 hours. That's a lot of rain for any place!

It started raining not long after I made that post.

It's actually quite nice here now and quite warm (52 degrees).

Goats...I can't imagine. That sounds so cool to this city mouse.
I love my goaties but it's been a rough year for me. I've lost four old ones this year - three that were fourteen, and a couple of weeks ago, my beloved old Sweet Pea, who was 15 1/2. I had all of their parents, and in fact, I also have Sweet Pea's daughter, Pinky, who is now fourteen.

I don't know what's going on with Chehalis/Centralia and the Chehalis River today. Out here, the biggest flood threat is from the Newaukum, and sometimes, the Tilton; although they don't cause me problems directly here at the house, they can cause problems on the road.

I'll call my son in Centralia later and see if there are any issues there.

I think I'll break down and buy myself a rain gauge one of these days; it might prove interesting.

Sounds cool with the goats.

You should get a rain gauge. Perhaps you could report your totals to Kiro or some other station and be the person for Cinabars rain totals

I doubt the good people of Seattle are particularly interested in what a little community of fewer than 600 people gets for rain. lol

But, who knows? I do wish I had had one these last few days.

Seattle is in the national news for setting new rain records and having a tornado just 40 miles south.

Any suggestions?

Actually, that bear one is pretty damn cute, isn't it?

I'll have to look around a little more; if I can't find one in the shape of a goat, I think I'll get the bear.

I wonder if there's a huge difference in accuracy, though, between the basic plastic ones and the more expensive ones?
