I don't know if anyone is following the Sri Lanka vs. New Zealand series but NZ pulled off an impressive win yesterday. Five of the sessions in the first four days had been rained out so they were still in the bottom half of the 1st innings at the start the 5th day. NZ declared in the middle of the first session on the 5th day with just a 180-some run lead and proceeded to bowl out Sri Lanka for 122 before the day's end. I was thinking they'd waited a bit long to declare but it worked out in the end.

Afghanistan looking pretty good in their test match against Bangladesh. Rashid Khan earns the honor of being the youngest player to captain a test side. I didn't know he could bat; he registered a half-century on just 50 deliveries including 3 sixes.

RIP Abdul Qadir.

Legendary Leg Spinner from Pakistan who died yesterday.

One of the Greats. Childhood memory of his dancing run-up and great bowling action. He kept the art of Leg Spin alive before the era of Shane Warne.

Australia should have been easily 3-0 up by now in the Ashes if it there were no Umpiring Howlers.

England would have been forced into Follow-On but Umpire didnt give (Leach / Buttler) Out and he was plumb LBW. Australia had already exhausted their quota of Reviews.

What an innings again yesterday by Steve Smith !!!

Yes it has been pretty comprehensive despite what the churlish Joe Root says. Smith has been outstanding but so too have the Aussie fast bowlers. England have only managed to bowl us out in both innings once so far.

Roots lack of grace has been almost as enjoyable to watch as the win. .

Great victory for Australia.

Jofra Archer's contribution in this series is giving us a great talent - Marnus Labuschagne. Really looking forward to more from him- he is a phenomenal cricketer.

Hopefully he can consolidate his spot. He will take a lot of confidence from his performance in the pressure cooker of an away Ashes series.

Looks like he is strangling Warner in this photo. I'm keen for him to be gone from our team, but his recent form should see to that Marnus....

As for Archer, no doubt a massive talent. Will be interesting to see if he can sustain performance at Test level. Early indicators don't look good, but hopefully he will mature and be a top performer for many years to come. Magnificent to watch when he is interested.....

Tim Paine again showed yesterday that why he is unfit for the Captain job. Atleast two times, he could have taken the review when Batsman was plumb out.

We could see it without replay, but he cant standing behind the Stumps.
