I'll agree with the OP that In and Out Burger is a tasty burger. I tried it when I went to Los Angeles. I heard that they don't franchise so this probably accounts for the sparsity. I have heard that one was built in Dallas but I haven't been to it. That being said another burger outfit I think is very worthy of In and Out is 5 Guys Burger. They recently built one in West Texas where I live and I have to say it serves one of the most decadant and tasty burgers I have every had. The one in my city is always packed just like the In and Out Burger joints I visited in California.

Yeah, but What-a-burger is an institution, and when a Texan is in a What-a-burger, he feels good about being there. In-out is an upstart fad that will die out as soon as they sell out to a big corporation.

In n out is far from a fad , Texas is getting almost every chain now. Texans should be proud that they chose to come here. Not likely they sell out, it's family owned and the owner is a billionaire. No franchising is why they are better run then other burger chains.

It is consistent which is what I can appreciate about In-n-Out. Whataburger is not consistent. I've eaten a some that we're very good, some that were ok, and some which were awful.

Fatburger was the best. That's the burger I miss.

I agree. I don't see what the hype is over In-N-Out. Fatburger to me is way better.

And Whataburger is just awesome. At least where I lived. When you were drunk.

I've never had Whataburger, but can say that so far, the ONLY burger I've seen that actually looks like it's picture is from In-N-Out!

Most fast food burgers look as if someone sat on them.

Oh and a cheeseburger for $2.20 doesn't hurt either!
