YES, this is a very important distinction. I worried when I wrote that about Cookie that people would start assuming she won't discipline her child. I kow many people who spoil their pets, but have well disciplined children. Raising a child is much different that having a pet. I have birds (intelligent, loving parrots that are my babies) that I spoil to bits, they rarely listen to me, I let them get away with so much, all they have to say is "I love you" and I melt. They have pretty much taken over a whole room in my house. My fiancee' and I pretty much let them get away with anything.

I will NEVER allow my child to be spoiled, it's a very different thing, I know any child I raise will need to be prepared to live independently in the world, and spoiled humans are awful creatures. My pets will always be with me, and they will always be spoiled because they don't need to be self sufficient. I don't agree that kids are easier, no way, pets are much easier, but I agree with your basic point that there is a difference between having pets and raising children.

Bethenny has worked hard for her success, I believe she will instill that type work ethic in her child, she knows you don't get something for nothing, you have work for everything, I don't see her being an overly indulgent parent.

We don't know how Bethenney will discpline Bryn she's still a baby LOL, so many people jumping to conclusions.

Cookie (discpline)=/=Bryn (discpline)

BWAHAHA! So laughable. And if you've never experienced raising a child, then how can you have an opinion between the two? Children cost more too. Oh and don't forget, we can leave our dogs home alone or in the back yard, while children need 24/7 supervision and attention. LOL

J-CityRelo, did you really write that kids are easier than dogs? This can't be what you meant.

I can see this happening mainly because J&B come from completely different family backgrounds. I think B may spoil Bryn the wrong way trying to compensate for her own childhood, or lack thereof. J seems like he'll try to keep Bryn grounded based on the way he was raised. This is just my speculation though; it may, or may not happen this way. Brynn may actually turn out alright.

Ok, this is a good post; so true Pet and kids really can't even be compared as far as raising them, so I retract my opinion. But pets are undoubtedly 99.999% easier to raise than children LOL.

True about the work ethic. However, B just got $120 Million for Skinny Girl. That money is going to drastically, drastically change all their lives. B never has to work another day in her life. She can buy Brynn everything she ever wants or needs. I have a feeling B is going to overindulge Brynn big time. (not intentionally spoiling her, but that's what's going to happen)

Absolutely, there is no real comparison, nothing in this world is more difficult than raising children.
