Deja vu... forecast high of 26 C, but only 13 C at 10:20 AM with slate grey overcast sky and a brisk wind.

New Zealand sounds like the bi. Warm days that never happen because of cloud.

I believe these are cirrocumulus undulatus. Surprised that you said that you've never seen them. They aren't all that rare here.

Btw, I hope for you that ChCh will manage to reach the forecasted high on Friday. Looks like the last chance.

It's more about the ocean that surrounds NZ, and it's ability to provide a constant source of cooler air in summer/warmer air in winter- the very essence of Oceanic climates. NZ is similar to to the British Isles in that regard, although is even more Oceanic than the BI.. Cloud doesn't have much to do with it. The warmest days here generally come with some degree of cloud cover. The coldest days are usually the clearest.

Due to intense week of rains in Buenos Aires Province, the Lujan river overflowed and the city of Luján is now flooded

I'm sure I have seen them before, but not with such pronounced rippling or so extensive.

Yes, before we settle into a week-long spell of rainy, overcast days with 10-13 C highs.

15 C here just coming up to 1 PM. I think the forecasters are having a laugh.

Exactly, that antiwarm, frustrating, maritime climate, just like the atlantic coast of buenos aires province here

Street termometer at Paulista Avenue, São Paulo's financial center.

The Brazilian National Institute of Meteorology set today, the second one in a row, year's record high in São Paulo. At 4pm, termometers set 36.6ºC. It's also the highest one since January 20th 1999, when it had got it's all-time record of 37ºC.

But at streets, surrounded by skyscrapers and buildings, temps gone insane like showed on the picture.

Official measures for October 31st 2012:
São Paulo: low: 24,9ºC high:36,6ºC
Votuporanga(little town about 400 miles north of São Paulo) low:24,9ºC high: 41,1ºC

Glad it's over now...tomorrow heavy rain is expected for us. Highs back into 20's

It's not as if 34C highs are common in Melbourne...

You seem to be experiencing some very big swings in temperature this year.

Melbourne never saw any 34C days. Yesterday and the day before reached around 30-32C. Today it has only reached around 15-16C.
