Frisco Playoff Football: Only One Still Stands

Well, what a difference one playoff game can make. And that can be looked at three ways here. In District 9-5A (Texas), the high school playoff picture was thought to be rosy for two teams (Centennial and Wakeland). What we have here now is an unpleasant surprise if you're a fan of the aforementioned Titans and Wolverines. Frisco had three schools make it to the playoffs, two that were expected to make it (Guess who? The previously-mentioned two) and one that surprised a lot...

#2 for 2014

Just back from the theater. J.K. Simmons, Paul Reiser (Mad About You), and Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now 2013). A directorial debut for Damien Chazelle. IMDB says this was 107 minutes - 1 hour 47 minutes - if asked, I would have sworn it was at least 2 hours, and not because of any pacing issues - the film is tight, with a linear storyline that seems to alternate between full bore on the track of the Daytona 500 and everyday life - throwing in a few streets of San Francisco...
