It feels like forever until Monday.

So, we went to look at that house last Thursday. The listing didn't do it justice. It's not perfect in every single way, but we sure checked a lot of our "want" boxes while viewing it, and only one "not ideal" box got checked while there.

After the viewing, we then--totally gung ho--go immediately to the bank afterwards only to find out the agent spouse had been talking with was on vacation. No problem, the lady we do meet with leaves a message for the mortgage...

The Beauty of Northeastern Pennsylvania

Every year during the warmer months I take a couple of long weekend car trips around the Anthracite Coal Region in northeastern Pennsylvania. A trip I would recommend to anyone.

The terrain is the Appalachian highlands of "ridge and valley" mountains. Not rugged like the mountains out west, but the forest covered mountains akin to the Great Smokies south of here in Virginia and North Carolina or the Adironacks in upstate New York.

The scenery is gorgeous. Green...

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

I have now applied to 94 jobs since the end of March 2016. I am closing in on my next milestone of 100 jobs applied. If I didn't take off the month of July, I would have already reached my 100 job milestone. Hurray!

I am still unemployed. I am still looking for a business to see my worth and hire me. I am still holding out for a minimum of $15/hr...I know I am asking for the moon and stars...

Anyhoo...I noticed today in my job searching, that a job I interviewed for a month...

Can't Have Anything Nice

I learned that years ago and still follow that way of thinking. When I was a kid I went on a rare bike-hike, didn't ride a bike too often because I hated bringing my possessions with me. I went with this kid and his brother downtown just to have a place to go. They each had new ten-speeds that they got for Christmas and I had my beat up old spyder bike that had a loose handlebar and a problem with the chain coming off on occasions.
