Uh-huh, your 'mates' were pretending...funny, when things like that happen (I'm not saying they do, ok??) around me, I suddenly have a whole new batch of 'mates' too!
Doubtless those pigs have seen some things over the years, 'specially in that place!

Hey so to all you hating on Adelaide and havent been here... give it a try and make it around summer time you wont regret it. I am an Adelaidean who has lived in America and is married to a black american man and we have chosen to make my hometown our home. Yes, Adelaide is more family orientated and not the party life central like Sydney, Melbourne and QLD but the people here are just as educated as any other place. You will have you good and bad in every state and race. Don't pre judge on a few people or from what you have heard. Adelaide is like an over sized country town with beautiful scenery, flora, fauna, beaches, wineries etc. Not all this stuff floats peoples boats especially if you from a big city... fair enough you dont have to call it home but just because it's night life is smaller doesn't mean it should be taken off the radar. My American husband has lived all over America and also in other countries and he really enjoys it hear. If you are looking for a quite retreat holiday to relax with a loved on or to bring the children its perfect. Home will always be home to each and every one of you, no one should contest that and you will always favour home where ever you call home. Adelaides crime rate is actually alot lower than other states and population plays a big part in this. We do have pubs, clubs and yes even strip clubs so take the country frame of mind out of the equasion and give it ago. Glenelg, Mclaren Vale, Port Noarlunga, City, Semaphore, Moana, Victor harbour, Adelaide hills all are extremely nice areas. You wont regret it visiting adelaide so long as you come here with the right frame of mind and thats an open mind. Don't past judgement or compare states from one another accept them for the unique differences. Also, if you come here to party you still wont regret it, I can assure you, you will walk out drunk, danced out, smiling and with not a dollar left in your wallett cos you drank it all away... Come in summer as people in Adelaide hybernate in winter. Kind of the old granny image in winter but summer we go just as wild as any other state with a smaller population... Anyways I'M OUT!! Visit and enjoy!

I can't think of anything interesting to do in Canberra. Except drink, look at porn and blow up some fireworks.

Atleast Adelaide has the beach to stuff around in if that is to your fancy.

Too easy, need a challenge...
Sorry mini, actually can't do it - I only seem to be able to read objective claims sorted into PARAGRAPHS these days.
If you read that, did you or did you not get a migraine?

OK, here's one to be going on with:

Q: What do you call a sheep tied to a lamp post in Adelaide?
A: A leisure centre

One more for good measure:

You may be from Adelaide if you:

Spend twenty minutes looking at an orange juice box because it said concentrate.
Put lipstick on your forehead because you wanted to make up your mind.
Get stabbed in a shoot-out.
Send a fax with a stamp on it.
Try to drown a fish.
Give someone back change if they gave you a penny for your intelligence.
Think socialism means going to Footy Park.
Trip over a cordless phone.
Take a ruler to bed to see how long you slept.
Write "Sagittarius" at the bottom of the application where it says "Sign Here"
Take 2 hours to watch 60 Minutes.
Study for a blood test
And fail.
Invent a solar powered flashlight.
Sell the car for gas money.
Upon hearing 90% of all crimes occur around the home, you move.
Miss the 44 bus, and takes the 22 twice instead.
Take you to the airport, sees a sign that reads, "Airport left", then immediately turn around and go home.
Get locked in a furniture store and sleep on the floor.
Put place of birth - hospital bed.

Well you can go to a Brumbies game, get lost on the local streets, go the botanical gardens, maybe the Australia museum. Excitement like you've never seen before.

Actually I think one thing of importance in Canberra is the Australian War Memorial.

I despise crappy football and Rugby....half of every hour-long news bulletin is taken up by this stupid ****e, I for one am sick of continually hearing about some overpaid easter-egg chasing buffalo for weeks every time they stick their goddamn finger up at whoever

Botanical gardens and Museum become boring after the 1st trip, if you've seen it once......
The war memorial falls in the above category.
