Hey I like Harrahs but maybe because I only been once and took my time exploring. I know there money to be had at machines that I dont know what they do with those huge complexes and dots dropping on the screen I lost .38 cents so I think I did good while my partner .. goofy took a debit card and let one game suck em out was waiting on me to finish having fun since they blew so quickly. It good treat Harrahs as an amusement ride not a way to earn cash or you could get in trouble but I wanna go back I turn that 25 bucks into 75 at one point... im hooked now

Yes, it is worth it. I was being a poop b/c I miss my favorite casinos in Kansas City. The hotel is very nice. I just feel that so much of the region around Cherokee has become a huge tourist trap. So I have a bad attitude.

So for you two to have a getaway . . . yes, I think you would have a good time! They are showing rooms for $59 b/f Christmas but only during the week . . .

I will tell you another place (longer trip tho) that may surprise you . . . Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville. It is a gorgeous facility. We discovered it back in the 90s and were so surprised. And at Christmas - the lights are beautiful. And the Sheraton Music City has specials . . . a very nice complex and you can drive over to see Opryland . . . Nashville along the river is neat, too. But yeah, that is a drive.

Also, Williamsburg is very romantic this time of year. We have been very pleased w/ the Country Inn & Suites there - much less expensive than most of the hotels and still close to everything and w/ that 18th C. ambience.

But my favorite romantic getaway in this region is the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, VA.

The Martha Washington Inn

Closer by . . . don't forget Chetola in Blowing Rock!!!

Chetola Resort at Blowing Rock, an upscale mountain resort in North Carolina's Blue Ridge

And there are cute B&Bs around Blowing Rock . . . one of my faves:
The Inn at Ragged Gardens - Historic Blowing Rock NC Country Inns

Please check the Taylor Inn out in Valle Crucis - a magical area (for me)
Taylor House Inn BnB Bed & Breakfast Inn located Historic Valle Crucis, Banner Elk North Carolina unique B&B, lodging and Hotel.

Broyhill Inn in Boone - king room $99 - lovely facility, good chef/food.

Oh - and you must stop into the Grove Park Inn (Asheville). If the rates are too high, you can stay somewhere else and head over to the Inn for a meal or for their piano bar at night. Very romantic.

Weird question but I'm betting Anifan has the answer. How do you find out when double/Triple coupon days are at the grocery store? I've decided to try the coupon thing to save us some $$ but I have no clue how to maximize my coupons. LOL

I usually shop HT.

From the website:

Doubling

* We accept 20 double coupons per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit to be exceeded.
* We double manufacturer’s coupons up to face value of $0.99; with total amount not to exceed $1.98 or entire retail of item; whichever is less.
* We double up to three identical items with manufacturer coupon; additional coupons for like item will be honored at face value.
* No internet coupons will be doubled or tripled. No competitor coupons will be doubled or tripled.
