if the food and service is good then i'll go and at least try it once. you're going to spend $8 on a burger eating at a chain like Fridays anyways. i don't see what the big deal is.

Doesn't sound like a diner at all. Maybe good food and ok for the price, but I agree the connotation of diner to me, sounds like a bit cheaper, blue plate specials, nothing too fancy.

My bad! Yep, had to be pretty good to cost $13.00. I would expect to keep the waitress for that.

It is confusing as it looks nothing like a diner. I will give it another try as it just opened. I have no problem paying for good food, but the prices are nothing like the diners I've been going to. My problem was the close to an hour wait for our food. When it did get there half the families food came out warm the other half cold. So if I'm paying $19 for fish I expect it to be at least luke warm. The kids loved the dessert. Nice that one price includes all. I understand it was the first night, but if you are going to charge those prices you better get it right quick.

They have a menu on their web page. They have a great variety of food. I hope they do well!

That's why most people wait about a month for the restaurant to get the bugs out.

Is it just me or are these prices WAY out of line with what a real diner would charge? I guess somebody has to pay for that fancy new building. I bet they close down in under a year!
I'm not sure where or when you're getting $13 as an exorbitant amount for meatloaf at a diner. Here is a real diner in South Jersey (much cheaper than North Jersey or NY). $10.95 for meatloaf & one side.

Westmont Diner – Haddon Township New Jersey Restaurant Menus - Haddontownshipmenus.com (http://www.haddontownshipmenus.com/menus/westmontdiner.htm - broken link)

I had to really dig for a diner that still serves meatloaf.

Really? I just looked up about half a dozen diners I used to go to in central/north Jersey, and they all had meatloaf. (It's usually under "dinner.")

$11-$13 seems about average, but they all seem to come with a lot of other things: soup, salad, vegetable, beverage, dessert... The one at Big View comes with a side and a potato.

I think the prices are about what I would expect for a "diner" in Ballantyne owned by upscale restaurateurs. (Yes, I'm going to try it, but probably not until after they start doing breakfast and/or I get a coupon.)
