When did the U.S curse Israel? Did I miss the ceremony?
Yeah, I was wondering that too. So pathetic to think that whatever happens to the STATE of ISRAEL determines what God does to us with blessings and cursing! An entire movement was built by the right wing Christian bigots on one verse from the Old Testament - it's too incredible how crazy people are with religion. I'm a UR believer - but I truly do hope that they hypocrites have to pay what they owe to the very last farthing.
I do not believe the oil spill was an act of God seeking revenge or judgement on any of us..I believe it was an act of the negligence, greed, etc of man..We seem quite capable of creating our own messes all by ourselves

The verse is just as it reads,IMO....those who bless Israel will be blessed...and those who curse it will likewise be cursed.INDIVIDUALLY that is.Not as a whole nation.
Our Pres. didn't do anything to Israel.ALL he said was that the US would not automatically take Israel's side.that's it.that's all he said.nothing worth God cursing us for there.Esp. not with a severe oil spill.I think that's where common sense comes into play.
Yes, it is irritating. The ultra-right wing zionists are so full of hatred for others. I suppose it never entered their minds that God might be judging the U.S. for all the war crimes we've committed and for supporting Israel as they massacre the Palestinians and treat them like animals or less than animals in a cage. Vipers! Hypocrites!

PS US still supports Israel. Nothing has changed in that arena. They only president to ever theaten Israel to cut US aid to Israel was not Obama, but George Bush Sr. Even Reagan said there will never be peace in Israel as long as they expand the settlenements. But not a single president including Obama has actually cut aid to Israel. On the other hand EVERY SINGLE US PRESIDENT Democrat or Republican since Israel started to settle occupied territory has publicly condemned the settlements. Why? Because we have to oppose them since they are in violation of the laws he helped create. So, we condemn then publicly and then we help Israel anyway. I am OK with that policy.

It's easy for most to blame the skygod for all the bad (revenge, judgment, punishment) that happens in this world instead of taking actual responsibility for OUR OWN HUMAN STUPIDITY!!!

It's pretty obvious how you really feel toward your neighbor in all your posting..... which is quite the contradiction of what one who really in their heart says they believe and loves God !!!

I see. Thanks for clarifying. To be honest, I didn't even know Obama had said anything about Israel. I don't usually pay too much attention to the details of the news these days. Too depressing. But I remembered reading that verse a few days ago, and it was enlightening to me. It made me realize that all these natural disasters - earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, fires, etc. - aren't God's punishment for our sins.
