I do not need to. It is 2010, photography does not edit out the mountains of Minnesota... unless it is a conspiracy...

I have a feeling the only place this guy has seen besides Long Island and Miami is the interior of a jetBlue cabin.

I think he really hates the Midwest or plains states and nothing will persuade him otherwise. He loves New York, even though he thinks it's lame and fake. Some people just aren't easy to rationalize with....

Yeah, right, both states are flat as a pancake.

I've lived in both and both states are very hilly. There are mountains in both Michigan and Minnesota.

Anyone who says the great lakes are flat and boring has obviosly never been there. It may be flat in some areas, but the majority of the lakes have beautiful scenery along the shore. And even if it was all flat, I must be missing the part where that matters. Having cliffs on a lake doesn't make a lake better than another. I think everyone is hating on the great lakes region because they are winning.

All of these are in Northern MN. Sure, not giant huge mountians, but the topography here is anything but 'flat'.

Well you are wrong. They have a lot of lakes but they are definitely not that great looking. Like it or not, it is the truth. They should not be winning the poll, the results of this poll reek of pure ignorance based on the fact that they are winning because they have more lakes, not the best.

The results of the poll show that many here know what they are talking about, are not homers and are willing to give credit where credit is due.

Your remarks show that you have issues with New York not winning this poll, period. You are also coming across as very geographically ignorant.

KidCann, those are a bit better. But still you leave me unimpressed because 1) those are average little hills that do not phase anybody and 2) they are nothing compared to states that should be winning like Alaska, New York, and Maine... even states with less lakes but even greater scenery like Montana and California.

Minnesota has a lot of lakes, but far from the best. That is it. What more do you need to argue? The truth is there, and the MN photos are average. NY is by far the most well balanced state lake wise, offering everything from parasailing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and hunting WHILE having a very high number of lakes like MN and MI.
