I have a question about the new marijuana laws that will go into effect in January 2014 when the retail stores open. If one doesn't live in Colorado, but wants to go to Colorado to buy and smoke marijuana within the borders of the state, will that be legal? In other words, will you have to have a Colorado drivers license to buy marijuana or will an out of state license do?

From what I understand if you have an out of state license you will only be able to purchase a quarter ounce rather than a full ounce.

Ah, but can you go in once a day and buy that quarter?
See, this is why it is taking them so long....so so so many things to cover!!!
We know very little...and what we do know could change in a day!!

Patience, time will tell.

1/4 oz per day per store for out of staters.
So yes, you can go to 4 stores to buy an ounce.

So will these marijuana stores be popular in towns near the state border or will you have to go to places like Denver? Much like casinos are in states that allow them but border states where gambling is illegal?

Put stock in Holly, Trinidad, Peetz, and Fruita!

You're gonna drive to these great metropolises from where? Why not just call the Papa Johns associate to score your next oz?

Some people like to keep it legal. I am very against marijuana prohibition but as long as the laws are on the books I will obey them. And yeah I was thinking those places.

Reminds me of the "Pain Clinics" of Florida. Thank God that's legal... bribing retired docs with lots of cash for those Vicodin prescriptions.

I wasn't aware that oxycotin was so similar to heroin... if you smoke it or slam it. But any true dopeless hope-fiend... er... youknowwhatImean... dude knows that H is cheaper, more effective, and easier to get.

But you want to pay more money, waste more gas, and waste more time to poke some smot legally? How agenda... er How political of you! Er! I MEAN, HOW NOBLE OF YOU!

Individual towns can decide if they want to allow dispensaries or not.

Denver will definitely have the recreational "retail" Marijuana stores. Auroro is still deciding on retail stores, but has ban dispensaries and Colorado Springs is considering having recreational retail stores. As somebody else as already said, it's the prospective city's final decision where you plan on visiting or moving too. Some travelers will buy legally from the retail stores while others whom are not all that skiddish will buy from somebody advertising on Craigslist.
