Yum. Good fries. Good greasy, messy burgers. For the latter, I like Central Park. Their double burger is like a big, cheesy meatball.

I like Central Park but wish they took debit. It's always when I don't have any cash on me that I'm in the mood for their burgers (which *are* very good). Kinda like how everyone wants Chick-fil-A on Sunday...

I LOVE Central park burgers. Good pricing on them, too!

another mini move last weekend....Hong Kong for chinese. Very good. Georgios by the IGA..nice little pizza, n.y. style. very surprising. Leo's for wings too. Great wings, but they could use a good cleaning and painting job. Nothing says amateur like paint drips in the bathroom and bad ceiling tile. It always amazes me that business folks don't realize that spending a few grand would double and triple their business. Clean the place up a bit and more folks would find the place acceptable. For me it was a nice stop, but I have to guess a lot of folks make one visit and that's it. Penny wise and pound foolish. pd

Sounds like an opportunity to line some work up once you get settled in up here (though I could be jumping the gun by assuming your username is referring to commercial/residential painting and not automotive or artistic)!

Sorry to digress for a moment but...Yikes.. five murders in 2009.. and the year is only half over??? Hope we dont have to change the name to MUnster, SC. I wonder how this compares to other cities in SC of similar size? I hope crime is something that law enforcement can get under control because any type of dubious title associated with this would not benefit the community.

It's been discussed before, Woodlands, but Sumter is ranked as the 5th most dangerous metro in the US. A few years ago it was 3rd...

When my daughter was in kindergarten, the theme for their fall festival was "Gang Awareness". Kindergarten, for crying out loud!

That being said, it's not so bad that I feel threatened by it. Although I have had to adjust the way I carry myself. Not that I have a bad attitude or try to start crap, or anything like that. I'm told I have a very intimidating look and it's been my experience that kids like to try to challenge that, as if they have something to prove. I hate being submissive, but I have to just turn my head/avert my attention and give them the satisfaction of being "dominant" because I don't want to be #6 for 2009. These days you just can't tell. And while the Marine in me tells me I'm bullet-proof, I'd hate to be proven wrong...

Well, we're pretty well settled in. Still lots of boxes and things to move but actually we've eaten at home the last 4 nights. Locating the stores and window shopping the tree places for fall planting. Made several trips to the recycle which conveniently is only 5 or 6 miles away. All in all things going well. The painterdude is for home and business painting...in fact I placed an add under Pence The Painter in the Item which started yesterday...
