Downtown New Haven has more character than Downtown Stamford it like one big office park. Stamford have advantage of lower crime rates, closer to Manhattan, public schools slightly better.

10 years ago I would have agreed with you, but Stamford downtown has changed quite a bit with the boom in residential buildings and the addition of UConn dorms. Still not a ton character to be sure, but much less of the office park vibe that defined downtown Stamford for so many years.

An historic value? huh, guess if you're into cold war era Soviet Union nostalgia.
Do you think the Yugo is a classic car?

You haven't come upon an ancient burial ground of new discovery here. Yale's historic architecture is known world wide. (unlike the Perelli building).
Apples and oranges to random Stamford.

You do realize that the building was designed by one of the most highly respected architects f the 20th Century? You may not like it but there were people that did not like Penn Station in New York. That is why it was demolished. Jay

Nothing screams New England charm like Soviet concrete.

A massive 500,000 square foot bioscience incubator building has been announced by Whinstanley Enterprises, the developer of 100 College Street. The new building will be across the street at 101 College Street and is the next phase of Downtown Crossing, the city’s redevelopment of the old Route 34 expressway stud that was abandoned several years ago. Great news. Jay
