That place doesn't look too terrible at all compared with some of the dive motels my friends and I used to stay in on our road trips back in the day.
Correction... it is "close" to the University of Alabama at Birmingham or UAB. UA is in Tuscaloosa about an hour away.

Adults certainly have the right to privacy, and the right to leave when they feel like it.

But I'm waiting for the fall out of this. She didn't just leave with no explanation; it appears she planned and staged a kidnapping, even involving police in a fake "toddler on the roadside" report.

Will she end up like the other women who have done this - Jennifer Wilbanks, Chloe Stein, Bonnie Sweeten, Audrey Seller and Quinn Gray (among others), and have her day in court for this?

O.k. correction noted. But the same would hold true about the college kids knowing about it and it being packed on game days. I'm not sure how close it is to the campus.

Last I heard, they were still investigating the matter which would make no sense for them to do if they already know that it wasn't an abduction and there was never a toddler.

Maybe they're trying to figure out who all was involved in this.

I have the same observation as I did during the Idaho murders case from last year, in that the lack of details from the police about potential suspects indicates something is not normal.

Common sense would lead one to believe that if there truly was this dangerous predator still loose out there, the police would have made public the suspect's physical description as well as car model and any other such relevant information. That they have not shows there is no sense of urgency, and along with the police being mum according to the family wishes, one can understandably conclude the whole truth is not being told here.

I think the police have stated that they aren't looking for a kidnapper or a toddler. And she was dropped off to her parent's home by someone that she knew.

With the Idaho case I think the initial impression that they had was that someone the kids knew killed them in an isolated act of rage. So they focused in on the inner circle. As their investigation progressed, they realized that it was a homicidal stalker/stranger.

With Carlee I think that the cops believed she had been abducted at first but then realized after seeing the road cam footage that something else was going on. I would imagine that they checked that footage pretty quickly and had retraced Carlee's steps from fairly early on. So their theory went quickly from abduction to she left on her own accord. Now they are sorting out why she did that and who all might be involved.

If this does turn out to be a hoax, she didn't do her chances of a nursing career any good. She could even wind up in the calaboose like Sherri Papini.

Just heard on the local news for Huntsville, the police chief for Hoover says the investigation is not over. I'm sure OldBankhead saw the same news segment.

That could mean almost anything.

Hmm.
