Serious question: are you a progressive (Sanders-like supporter)? I noticed a lot of my FB friends that are progressive feel the same. The DNC won't win anything outside of the East/West Coast if they run a progressive.

as long as the democrats campaign on identity politics, they are going to continue to lose election after election.

If that's true, then they're in trouble for sure. Identity politics is all they have. Their entire platform is based on identity politics and victimhood.

Democrats let themselves be seduced into believing that they could ride “identity politics” into permanent command of the presidency. Their identity politics balkanized society, created state-chosen favored groups, and fostered communal strife. It didn't work. And why assume that identity politics creates permanent allegiances? Isn't that taking entire groups for granted?

Identity politics by the Democrats has finally come back to bite them.

For all of Obama's embrace of identity politics at home, abroad Obama has preached the opposite.

in the U.S. Obama tells a black audience in Sept 2016 that he would “consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy” if they didn’t turn out for the Democratic candidate in Nov. Yet on his farewell tour abroad just 9 wks later, he lectured on the sins of parochialism. His message for the nations of the world, was to avoid “tribalism” in the name of a common universalism.

Ironic isn't it.
