Hopefully the result of the 2016 election will penalize candidates in the end, meaning the more minutes you spent in front of a camera for "entertainment" (Franken, Trump, Oprah, Ventura) the less votes you will likely see.
I worked for a company based in Minneapolis and saw him speak at a quarterly event. He was stiff as hell, no sense of humor and appeared just straight up annoyed. He was a completely different person than the former writer on SNL. Don't know what happened there.
I could see him running but his heyday was when his book came out in the early 2000s. What really rubbed me the wrong way was how he just didn't seem personable at this event where everyone else was excited to have him there. Smart guy though.
Cuomo is really making a push to run. He is desperately trying to up his public profile at the expense of NYC citizens. The guy can't even erect a sign properly on the NY Thruway without the Federal government suing him for improper signage. He is the typical tax and spend blame everyone else for problems of his own making on everyone else. Just ask deBlasio how great Andy is.

I'm a millennial, and it frustrates me that other millennials would rather create an offshoot party instead of just running in elections and taking over the Democratic party from within. Democratic party leadership will continue to be stodgy and out of touch because millennials insist on just complaining about the party rather than taking it over from the old guard.
Republicans do not have that problem. The Tea Party took over the party from within and now they run everything.
