I'm still full from the bbq. The grilled burgers (California style) were so juicy and so very, very good Can you tell I really enjoyed them Tater salad hit the spot too.

Everyone brought dessert so had a variety of chocolate cakes and of course apple pie, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Had dessert outside while watching a fantastic firework display.

Hope you all had a great day too

Thumbs up The Agenda - July 5 - 11

This week's possibilities include some items I've selected in-between outings of steak and barbecue, because, at some point, I'm going to be craving those. My plans for this afternoon are stuffed peppers, macaroni and cheese, and creamed corn. Later on, I've got ham and black-eyed peas, and also a dish called pozole, which is a Mexican soup consisting of pork and hominy. The latter item is new to me, so I wanted to give that a try.

Enjoy everything you do this week, and bon appetit!

Nomad...".Blessed assurance". "Pulled pork and the promise of potato salad".....for less than that odysseus set sail from Ithica and burned the topless towers of Ilium.

Last night we had "Exotics." Cheese toast then put a slice of tomato and a 3/4 cooked piece of bacon draped over. Run under the broiler. Yummm!

We were lucky last night--very few fireworks going off so the animals were not stressing much at all. It was so cute, the little boy down the street stopped by and asked if I wanted to go and watch them with their fireworks over on the mountain--I declined but still it was so sweet of him to invite me!
It's looking like we are going to get our rain finally today so dinner will have to be cooked inside--oh well, we need the rain!
Not sure about dinner yet but I was doing some more reading in Kelsies cookbook so something from in there might just be it! I have to see what I have in my freezer and what DH is feeling like. Will post dinner later....

Morning Foodies........

Nothing planned for din tonight except left overs from the party yesterday. Food was great and I was not a good girl. Today is another day and I expect to be back on track.
someone made this cake yesterday that was absolutely heaven.
I have made it in the past. We called it Italian wedding cake.

It is cake mix the you add a mixture of ricotta cheese, vanilla and some other ingredients. the chesse sinks to the bottom.
Really very very good and very moist.
