Anywhere in Monmouth County. Honestly, just about all of NJ is very gay friendly.

We were thinking of riverside or near there because of cost of living.Im originally from San Fran area but have been living in the midwest, in a city of around 800,000 people. We are definately spoiled by cost of living, a fabulous home on a lake here 2700 sq ft for only 249k, hard to beat that esp in LA.Also want a more suburban feel, while being close to a lg city.I am familiar w Bakersfield too, didnt like it there.we dont go out all that much so a commute for that isnt a prob. What feelings did you get from Bakersfield that you get there??

Thanks for the info. I knew about the laws for civil unions and such in VT, however, I was asking because my neighbor a 39 yr old out lesbian had told me that where she lived in Vt she was not treated well, especially when her employer found out she was gay. This all happened about 8 yrs ago, so I was just double checking. She also lived in a very small town.

I would be moving with my partner, and our 17 year old son.We arent looking for a party lifestyle, were pretty conservative but openly gay.My partner is from a small midwest town, and overwhelmed by the city.I love the city but it just wouldnt work. we are also thinking of CT.
