Although not in the Upstate, this chain was on many upstate residents wish list a few years ago. After 36 years, Fry's Electronics is no more. They closed all their stores and website. The closest one to us was Milton, GA.

Of course none of this comes as a surprise.

Very sorry to hear this. I used to frequently visit their Duluth, GA store next to Gwinnett Place Mall, right next to 85. Huge electronics superstore, combining aspects of Radioshack and Best Buy with an extensive inventory. The Duluth store was closest to Greenville but it closed last year.

Looks like Mexico City restaurant on Wade Hampton in Greer closed down. I figured it would be hard for them to make it with Guacamoles less than a mile away.

As a younger man visiting inlaws in Greenville, we would dine at the Commerce Club. Very nice private dining facility, sort of a country club private dining room for local business and civic leaders. Sorry to see it close down. Skyline dining atop a downtown building is a nice scenic view. But hopefully the Poinsett Club remains, although I do not really have access anymore to such private venues. And my grandfather was a member of the City Club in Charlotte, and I believe it still operates and was recently renovated. Hopefully some other upscale restaurant can take over the Commerce Club site, but it may be after Covid shutdowns subside.

However.. Their FB page has a post from Feb 7th, less than 2 weeks ago, touting less than a month from opening day.

Think they're perhaps just updating the building.

Now, that's a page for BOTH their stores, but..
Looks like I was wrong. Went by last week and the signs were back up. They must've been renovating.

The Bi-Lo’s that weren’t sold will be closing next month. Ten of them in Greenville County alone. That’s gonna leave a lot of empty tenant space. Ouch.

10 are not going to be empty. Several of the ones the News listed are converting to Food Lion. They even missed some on their list that will be converting to Food Lion like Church St and Verdae.

Perhaps some of these old shut down BI-LO stores could convert to Big Lots or a gym of some sort. That seems to be a pattern. Or maybe some other grocer will decide to take them over. I would not mind a Piggly Wiggly in the area.
