Spin it however you want,
the fact is that kids are supposed to go to school to get an education, not to learn how to play X sport in a $68 million stadium.

As long as teachers are layoff, there should be zero money for stadiums.

Maybe oildog can answer me this. Why do some people get away with calling people idiots while others don't?

Am I allowed to call 14Bricks an idiot because I disagree? Just wondering.

Also, what is your experience in education, 14Bricks? Enlighten us. What classrooms do you observe that have a mixture of local and out of state kids?

In my opinion, an "idiot" (if I were to use such an ugly word) is defined as a person who doesn't like the counter-argument then calls people names.

Do you have a mirror nearby, sir?

Sorry I had to edit. I am on an archaic web system to say the least.

I should add, I am extremely interested as to why crbcrbrgv dislikes Texas schools so much. Just to be fair.

Although I'm not too concerned about it, I feel there's heavy bias here on the Houston forums. It's sad and ugly.

Actually, I think the idea of spending $68 million on a stadium is ludicrous, and if I lived in that ISD, I'd vote against any bond issue to fund it.

Take a look at this whole thread, and you won't find a single post stating or even indicating that I support it.

However, when someone makes a false statement along the lines of "our education is the absolute worst", I will challenge it.

Now, if you have any information contradicting the data in the links I posted, I'd be interested to look at it.

that's right. the stadium is for the fans. i will vote yes for it. i enjoy nice stadiums. over the past few years, i have traveled to several stadiums to watch my tigers play. probably the nicest one was the berry center. but even rice stadium (which once had a super bowl) was not as nice as rhodes. you are now seeing that high school football is gaining popularity. there is more of it being televised these days. most of the high school players have under armour and nike symbols on their uniforms. high school football brings in the dollars if you have a successful program such as katy.

HS football is pretty crazy right now. I have a few friends who are hardcore football fans, and they mostly follow HS games at the stadiums, and watch college ball on cable.

What dollars does it bring in though? And how does that benefit my non-athletic kids?
