The owners of PF Changs and Pei Wei used to be married...back then they only had PF Changs. After they split the wife then created Pei Wei.
In my opinion Pei Wei sucks compared to PF Changs. But some people really like Pei Wei. I was just really disappointed with it.
Other restaurants that I enjoy:
Lupes Tortilla - mexican
Melting Pot - fondue
Trulucks - steak/seafood
Fogo de Chao - meat meat meat
PF Changs - chinese
D'Amarco Italian Cafe - italian
Mama's Cafe - home cooking
Dot's Diner - home cooking
Pappadeaux - sea food
Bonnie's Steak house - steak
Windy City Pizza (in Humble) - great Chicago style pizza (used to like Fuzzy's)
There's a hole-in-the-wall burger place in the medical center that has great burgers and onion rings...Can't remember the name of it. It's on Kirby, between Main and OST, right behind a gas station.
I know there's more....I will have to think about it...

I think you're speaking of D.J.'s - never been there myself but I've seen it. I just might have to try...
Is the Windy City Pizza the real deal when it comes to Chicago-style deep dish?

Timmy Chan's all day, everyday. In fact, I just came back from the one on Bissonnet. Got a hair cut, and stopped by to get some cheap rice and chicken.

Well, since I have never been to Chicago, I can't personally say. I have heard others say that it is the real deal though. Their deep dish I pretty much have to eat with a fork...it's really awesome though!! The sauce is spread over the top.

Sounds promising. I might have to go up to Humble and check that out.

We didn't go to PF Changs this weekend, but I did get turned onto a really great sushi place in Pasadena: Little Tokyo on Fairmont - I don't recalled ever seeing such a huge selection of sushi. God it was good. I'll head there again this week.

Yesterday we had New York style pizza in Friendwood at Cafe Stefano's Pizzeria. I felt compelled to soak up some of the grease with napkins but my New York Italian husband and my son said, "Don't do that, Mom. The grease is where the flavor is." My husband said, "That's a pretty good pie." From him, that is a huge pizza compliment.
Fair warning: They do take out only. We planned to go inside to eat until we discovered there were no chairs. The place certainly doesn't look fancy or meticulously clean, either. Good pizza, though.

I'm really, really sorry, but no. They don't.

Well you have your opinion and I have mines. I didn't say that they have "THE BEST" soul food because clearly they don't (I do), I just said that SOME of the dishes come CLOSE to MS soul food. Now read that verbatim and don't add to it. It is what it is...

I've seen some posts for Chicago-style pizza (which I do not care for AT ALL). Does anyone know where some good New York style pizza is at? Everyone knows New York mops the floor with Chicago when it comes to pizza.
