Police should be given right to question legal status. (illegal aliens, law, American)

Its not racial profiling. Many countries do it and it works.

The police job is to protect & serve the community.

By not asking a persons legal status is not Protecting the community.

I think in most countries police can question your status.

In a large number of countries around the world, when stopped by law enforcement one of the things they ask is to present papers, proof of who you are and why you are there.

Seems to work where they care about enforcing laws, not so much here.

I see nothing wrong at all, in doing so. Other Countries do certainly do this, why shouldn't we.

The same thing they do in NY with illegal random bag searches (Of course they need a warrant) but they do it anyway.

I believe in Escondido, Ca that is what the police did. They stopped all vehicles doing sobreity tests. It was successful in finding a lot of illegal aliens.

I believe they can do it, but they are afraid of the Pro illegal crowd.
