That is not universally true. Employers can do whatever they want in that respect. Up to and including googling your name and date of birth on the county website or whatever. If you match up, they may not be slow in telling you that you can't work there. Not sure if that is specifically illegal, but don't underestimate what tools they may be used. If it's illegal, you can sue all you want but that makes you less likely to get hired not more.

...and this definitely does not apply to Federal Government jobs, contracts, and many other types of jobs. You must disclose any arrest (even if not a conviction for your entire LIFE).

That's the company that has the fewest openings and the worst target, while the other company will have more openings available. If it was a about the status quo. Then the number of employed full time people would have been flat compared to last year.

Now I am here in the DC area making literally 10x the money. I can go wherever I want here and still make 8 times the money I made in Florida without making any effort.

In Florida I was willing to do anything but no one would hire me and allow me a job that would allow subsistence. Sometimes it is your environment. Not sure if this applies to the OP though.

If the environment stinks, leave it if you can reasonably do so.

You did make a change and make 10x more money. I moved to Dallas for a $20k raise, while I still had jobs available in Houston. There are numerous factors that may have to change. Look at the OP, he can't even be bothered to spend an hour or two attending a career ministry to learn from others.

Reminder: Just because fast food jobs are low paying jobs doesn't mean they are easy to get. I see so many people saying......."I couldn't even get a job at McDonald's."

You have to know someone to get a job at McDonalds too

I appreciate the comments from those who showed sympathy and gave recollections of their past struggles of job seeking. I would say that I'm shocked by the responses of those who blame the unemployed for their lack of job prospects. As I mentioned earlier, it gives me hope that there are opportunities out their despite my circumstances. I just hope you guys won't hit hard ends in the future.

That's funny because we were told growing up that if we don't attend college, our employment prospects would be dead end jobs in the food service industry. SMH

This decade, I expect many of those service industry jobs in fast food and retail to be automated (such as cashiers, bank tellers, etc.).

So that will be more job losses contributing to our structural unemployment crisis while our global population continues to grow towards 8-9 Billion People.

I could say I'm schocked about you!

Let's see.
1. Can't drive and hasn't responded to anyone asking why. You say there are jobs, but they want someone who has transportation. Get some transportation! That is an excuse.

2. BS that around a college there are NO jobs.

3. Mowing a lawn, painting a fence? Still no reply to these type of suggestions.

4. No classes on interviews or anything like someone has just suggested a few posts up.

C'mon man. You will answer the posts you want to answer and not even look at the ones that could benefit you.

You can be unemployed the rest of your life worth I care. The ole government with my tax dollars will support you no problem at all.

I'm sorry I have no respect for people who won't take advice. We have offered advice and you just ignore the posts. You reply to the ones that you can answer not the ones that are truly trying to help.

Please answer those statements and maybe we can actually help.

I believe in Karma and I know for fact I won't be hitting "hard ends in the future" for typing this post. Bad Karma doesn't come to the ones who are advising it is the ones who are completely ignoring the advice!

Most of the automation of tellers started decades ago with ATMS(Automated Teller Machines). Now there are more automated tellers than bank locations. They are placed in malls, convenience stores, casinos, drug stores, etc.

Sometimes a change is needed to make money and provide for yourself or a family. I wouldn't want to move states away from my family, but what is the alternative? Making 8 bucks an hour or nothing at all! Hell if you can make money in another state you can go visit your family and actually have a good time with them for once since you have some cash now.

As for the OPer he won't even quote your post to respond. He won't take advice or suggestions just say "There are no jobs for me".
