Not a universal truth even though that may be your personal experience in applying for a position there.

Yeah, and in the past few years ATMs have become full service mini-banking centers. You can do all of your banking without ever having to speak with a teller now at the ATM. BofA is (more or less) already at that point, where you must now have a minimum monthly deposit into your monthly account before you can even go to a teller window.

I always wondered about the true reason why people look down at the unemployed and especially the homeless. Is it a primal fear of becoming one of them themselves that motivates this behavior?

I don't know why someone would even apply for a bank teller job in 2013 especially since someone has no reason to go in the bank unless they need to make a BIG WITHDRAWL which is not all the time. Before saturday I have not been inside a bank to do any business since May of 2012.

And when people do go in the bank, it's not to speak to the teller. It's to speak to a loan officer about an auto loan or mortgage. I have seen more stations and offices for loan officers at the bank than for tellers, nowadays.

The ship for teller jobs has already sailed, decades ago.

I don't know the original posters circumstances and I don't have time right now to read 11+ pages of posts.

I know here in Dallas there are jobs to be found. They may not be ideal, or where somewhere anyone would want to work, but they are out there. I have a friend who's going broke because she won't humble herself and get a job she feels she's over-qualified for. McDonalds hires people who've never had a job, or other experience. Cashiers, I've seen Now Hiring signs on my Krogers front door stating they will train. I've never had any problems finding a job at a daycare. These jobs can be temporary until something better comes along.

Please try not to get discouraged. Your perfect job will come someday. Good luck.

Still, that's over a half-million jobs that will soon be lost, which is nothing to scoff at given the glut of unemployed people already.

Meanwhile, you have over 3 Million Cashier Jobs that will be lost not too soon in the future as well.

It's ignorance and arrogance. One must know the reason for unemployment. Unemployment goes far beyond being "lazy" or "unqualified".

Just like I said you will quote others and respond, but you can't even answer these simple questions below!

Ignorance....arrogance....these sound like words to describe yourself.

This is pathetic. I'm done with it. Your a whiny baby who won't work.

Let's see.
1. Can't drive and hasn't responded to anyone asking why. You say there are jobs, but they want someone who has transportation. Get some transportation! That is an excuse.

2. BS that around a college there are NO jobs.

3. Mowing a lawn, painting a fence? Still no reply to these type of suggestions.

4. No classes on interviews or anything like someone has just suggested a few posts up.

C'mon man. You will answer the posts you want to answer and not even look at the ones that could benefit you.

You can be unemployed the rest of your life worth I care. The ole government with my tax dollars will support you no problem at all.

I'm sorry I have no respect for people who won't take advice. We have offered advice and you just ignore the posts. You reply to the ones that you can answer not the ones that are truly trying to help.

Please answer those statements and maybe we can actually help.

I believe in Karma and I know for fact I won't be hitting "hard ends in the future" for typing this post. Bad Karma doesn't come to the ones who are advising it is the ones who are completely ignoring the advice!
