I met with a agent from related yesterday and gave me layouts to choose from in commons! sooo excited and can't wait... they told me that they are anticipating a move in as early as October.... by the way views from the apartment are beautiful... Also, I saw that you mentioned about parking, yes you are right! I asked and they said it's around $285 with taxes... kind of pricey like you mentioned... does anyone know of any parking lots around that are somewhat cheaper? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

You can try craigslist, but given the increase of population density in the area private parking space prices will go up (premium). Current listing on craigslist is around $250 a month around Court Square. I would take the deal of $285 (especially if it fixed for a long duration).

Forgot to mention, if you don't use your car very often. You can try renting out a parking space in Astoria for $160-$200 a month.

@bball212 -- are you part of any of the preference groups? Queens Community Board 2 resident, municipal employee, etc? Trying to figure out where things are in the overall process.

Great to hear that Commons is moving along with anticipated move in dates! What size apartment did you select.
