Anybody know what's going on in the 34th precinct? There was another shooting on W 204th st today. May be police related. So far this year, the 34th has tallied 8 homicides. That's it's the highest total since 1997.
It's the type of area that you expect to have a lot of homicides, due to how dense it is, and also due to the large amount of drugs present in the neighborhood. So I instead of asking "whats been going on", I should ask, "What took it so long".

Second Boy Pleads Guilty to Tossing Target Shopping Cart Onto Broker
So 2 kids out of the 4 have pleaded guilty in throwing a shopping cart out of a target to hit a lady.
Police picked up the boys later that evening at their homes in public housing near the East River mall, sources said. They face a maximum of 18 months, if convicted, regardless of the severity of the victim's injuries, sources said.
Yeah, those eagled-eye cops just happened to pick the right car for forced gentrification. You know, the car with the 4 guns in it.
There is more police presence in the streets of washington heights (certain areas). I live there. There are plans to make a high rise luxury building in washington heights so i am assuming that the police presence is paving the way for the slow gentrification.
But what really has the potential to alter the landscape – and skyline – is the Quadriad project, which could add as many as 454 units in four residential towers on Broadway at W. 190th Street. Also lurking in the realm of possibility is the on-again, off-again 1 Bennett Park luxury condominium perched on the rocky hillside of W. 184th Street, which could add several hundred more housing units. That’s potentially thousands of new area residents who would become local shoppers, diners, and other service consumers.
