Election Results

Don't know if you'll be able to see it but this was another large drug bust for cocaine... It seems like there have been a number of these stories lately... Don't know whether it's a positive or a negative though... On the one hand, you can look at it and say that NYPD is slowly cleaning up our streets... On the other hand, it makes you wonder if large scale drug dealing is because more prevalent across the city... Either way, glad to see that the NYPD caught most of these guys... Unfortunately the ring leader escaped...

Allerton neighborhood. It's always good when drugs are cleared off the streets, but as anon1 said, it does make you wonder if there's a much bigger drug scene than is naked to the eye. It's no doubt after the crack breakdown of the mid-late 90s, dealers learned to be more discreet.

What a shame. Just a few weeks ago heads on here were talking about parkside houses was safe as pelham and throgs neck, think again. A good thing they got these guys off the street. Bronxdale avenue from allerton all the way to Wakefield is very troubling recently.

Yea and the unfortunate thing is that they didn't collar everyone...I don't know if the link works for you or why it says election results but if you read the article underneath the video it says that they are still looking for 7 guys and the main ring leader was one of the ones who escaped... So basically all they got were the lower level guys who can easily be replaced with new guys looking to make some money...

Not trying to sound pessimistic because this was definitely a good thing but the number of large drug busts recently across the board in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Manhattan in a few areas is something that we hadn't seen in recent years so for right now I'll be cautiously optimistic about these stories...

Seriously guys....drugs are everywhere....every neighborhood on a huge scale. Why would you think otherwise? Because there is a big drug bust does not make it a bad neighborhood. You have million dollar homes in elite LI suburbs that are drug fronts and brothels...it does not make the neighborhoods bad because they operate properly and don't shoot the place up. One of the only places I am offered drugs openly is the West Village especially all around Christopher St and NYU...and that doesn't make them bad areas...far from it actually.

Remember, it takes many years to uncover a major drug bust, so they were all probably started many years ago and coming to a head now. It's not that it's a new thing, it's that they are being closed now...nothing more.

Which neighborhoods are really bad in Harlem (streets/avenues)? Are there any neighborhoods that you wouldn't even drive through (if you were in a $100k+ car)? I remember in the 90's people would rob people driving in their cars, does this still happen, which neighborhoods?

The thing is that wealthy suburban areas also have a drug problem, but it goes on behind closed doors. Often is the unhappy houswife popping Xanax or Ativan (which are just as addictive as Heroin) and mixes it with alcohol. The hubby is aware of his beloved wifes problem, but is not really interested to do something about it. When the wife starts her daily rant about how miserable her existence is hubby says 3 Xanax and whiskey on the rocks coming up.
