Many of those areas discussed in the article don't seem to be correctly colored.

Violent crime doesn't happen often in the areas mentioned in the article, except for obviously the Brownsville location. I believe the Bronx and Brooklyn locations are colored correctly.

The shootings described in those articles seem targeted so they shouldn't represent the safety of the neighborhood

Doe Place on Staten Island is already in a red area.

The downturn in violent crime that swept the nation in the 1990's that has lasted until even now, is the trickle down of Roe vs Wade. All the republicans that are pro-life LOL @ them in 20 years if it is ever repealed... More unwanted children being born= more criminals.

Actually, it's been shown that the abortion theory doesn't correlate. The only theory has has been demonstrated to track the crime patterns is the removal of lead in gasoline, and that's never going back in there
