By the way, NYMag did an excellent job of covering the storm, especially on their Twitter feed. Much better than the Times with breaking news.

From Gov. Cuomo's Sunday morning briefing on Sandy:

He thanked all the regional partners, the Federal Government. first responders and others.

730,000 customers are still without power this morning of this 145,000 of them are in NYC. (There are 7000 customers without power in Manhattan, 86000 customers without power in Queens and 20000 customers without power in Staten Island.)

The South Ferry subway station has now been pumped dry.

There is now subway service from Brooklyn to Manhattan over the bridges and in East River tunnels. (Also the J train is working over the Williamsburg Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan.) Subway train cars will be trucked over to the Rockaways (as the bridge there is out). Mass transit service will not be normal tomorrow.

There are still continuing issues with fuel delivery. They are working to increase the gas supplies. Now is not the time to be using one's car.
