We just got word from DIL. Her great-aunt who is a missionary nun in Haiti is OK and safe. It has been a harried couple of days waiting for word. Praying for all down there.
Amazing, while spending hours on the phone with Dr’s office, their billing agent, and the medicare and UHC insurance yesterday about a new bill sent to me for $5.88, after my “out of pocket” costs, UHC can’t figure out any part of my medical bill and won’t make payment until they get another bill from the doctor’s office. The doctor’s office said they are happy and don’t need to bill anyone any amount. Why do I get a bill for $5.88? Nobody has an answer and points the finger at others.
TODAY! Out of the blue, I received a check from medicare for OVER payment on my chiropractic services that I paid for over the past year. I’m cashing the check and walking away quickly. As for paying the other $5.88 bill,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, they can check back with me when they have time again. I’ll stick to my “I already PAID my “out of pocket” costs,,,, must be YOUR problem.
Just received an email from my old fishing buddy in NJ. He recorded a video of our old supervisor who is now in a nursing home. It brought back several memories of our outings and experiences in my boat....laughed at some, brought tears at others.....
Our listing agreement with our realtor expired a week ago, 6 months with only one showing, so we are trying to decide what to do now. We contacted another agent in town who we have known for years and he agreed to look at our house to give us his thoughts. He stopped over and spent quite a bit of time looking at things and scratching his chin. When he was done he told us his thoughts.
He admitted that the entire time our house has been on the market, based on what he saw prior to this, he felt we had the house priced higher than it was worth. After looking at it he told us that the house is indeed worth every penny we were asking for it. He told us that everything we have done to the house was done absolutely right and there was not a thing he could suggest to make our house "ready to sell". That's the good news.
Unfortunately, in the current economy, the community won't support that asking price. I guess if we want to move closer to the kids, we will probably have to settle for a lower price. That's the bad news.
I walked into the U.S. Postoffice and got my package weighed, mailed, and didn't have to wait behind anyone in line! All this in under four minutes.

I simply walked under the yellow caution ribbon around the building that was marked “Police Investigation” and avoided stepping in the white power on the floor when I got inside.
