I am peeved by the general technology fail and people not working with me, either cause they can't (not their fault but annoying on my end) or because they are total @sses (re: disability office woman) and I am peeved that I can't do things the old-fashioned way as a backup (can't write down notes on a notebook) and have to rely on other people and can't be independent right now.
End rant.

You're right82F is nothing when we have had many, many days well over 100F with the humidity. But keep in mind that in part of Canada (including here) temperatures drop to well over -40F in the winter, so many people don't purchase air conditioning). We really only get two months of summer with weather over 75F. Sometimes we get whole summers where there are only a few days over 80F. It's like anywhere else. If people can't afford a/c (especially the young, old, and unwell) they are very much at risk for heat stroke. Today is only 70F, and I am freezing, but happy for those with no a/c. It will give their houses a chance to cool down some.
It's going to be 102 degrees Fahrenheit here with 70% humidity and a heat index of 113 degrees.
I don't know how they do it in Al-'Aziziyah, Libya where it's been 136 degrees.
I don't either. I had a young man in my office from Bangladesh the other day, and I asked him how he liked the heat. He told me he loved it. That day it was 105F with the humidex. I think some of it is what we're acclimatized to--136F is just brutal...
So true and so sad too. When I got back from Thailand it was 3.42, two days ago was 3.67 and now it's 3.89 (most expensive). Cheapest is 3.69. Average is 3.79.
I remember when gas was .99 cent. People were upset when it was .99 cent. LOL.
