Except, in an awful lot of places, "nice weather" is a couple of weeks in the spring and summer.

We're giving up San Diego's coastal weather to move to Phoenix. I think that's about the only downside. So we'll run the AC constantly and use the pool during the summer. It isn't like we're always outside here!

IT'S A CRUE WORLD FOR YOU! GLAD I'M NOT YOU, HOWEVER. Something you did in a past life maybe. Look within!
I hate the weather in summer, yes. I think downtown is a joke compared to similarly-sized cities, yes. That's about it. So sue me. There's more that I love here than hate. That goes for any place Ive ever lived. You're weird as heck, man. Sorry for having an opinion.

And FYI, I haven't really ever liked the Crue. I mean, Dr. Feelgood was a good album and all that, but I've never owned any of their albums.

In Upstate New YOrk, I would see a wrecked car on my 20 minute drive to work EVERY SINGLE DAY during the winters. Not once or twice a week but a car crash every day on my morning commute. I took a different route to work in the winter to avoid an icy hill. A few days, I actually couldn't get to work because of snow and ice. Recreation was out of the question. I will take lounging by a pool or hanging out an air conditioned location over being literally trapped at home. I have never been unable to leave my house in Arizona. The lack of humidity makes the extreme heat tolerable to a certain degree. 120 is 120. Don't get me wrong. BUT, 120 withhumidity would be a different story.
You hate NY, but wear the name so proudly. Makes sense.

So you saw a wrecked car once a day due to inclement weather? Oh no! What do you say about the 12-20 accidents a day here that occur in nice weather? I lived in snowy climates for over 30 years. Never once had an accident due to weather. Living here? 2 accidents (both were not my fault).

It's got to be a lot more than that! Just this morning on my drive of a dozen miles or so I drove by three accident scenes. That's more than usual, but I'd estimate I see about one a day on average.

I'd think there must be hundreds every day in the metro area?

Edit: I found some ADOT numbers for 2017. There were 39139 crashes during the year in Maricopa County, or a little over 100/day.

The worst situation in Phoenix is having your car break down in 110 + heat. Second is when the air conditioner stops working correctly in your car or house. Third is getting in that pool in the summer and the water is always hot. Fourth is that from May to September everything you touch outside either burns you or leaves a cactus needle in you. Lastly, forget about yard work and doing anything in the garage during those five months.

Diving pool with a deep end is a little better. Ours has been 86-88 degrees this past week. I like it a few degrees cooler but that's not too bad.

Same here. Mine is 89-91. It still feels nice. Opening the aerator up really helps.

Doh! I misread the data. It's really 93596 crashes for Maricopa county per year, so about 250/day on average.
